About the Curved Tealight Holder
Curved Tealight Holder. A six-candle tealight holder with an elegant upward curve, handmade from 100-year-old Scotch whisky cask wood.
About the whisky cask range
These pieces are handmade by Graeme and Beverley Anderson, a small family business in Elgin, in the heart of Speyside malt whisky country. Oak casks are used for up to 100 years, first to store sherry, bourbon or port and then to mature whisky, giving each dram its colour and nose. When a cask’s working life ends it would normally become firewood – instead, it is hand crafted into unique holders, tealights and platters, and you may still catch the aroma of its former contents.
Caring for whisky cask wood
Each piece is made from real oak whisky staves, so knots, marks and colour variations are all part of its character. Dust with a soft dry cloth, keep it away from radiators and direct sunlight, and never leave lit candles unattended. A little beeswax polish now and then keeps the oak looking rich and brings out that whisky aroma.
